Savings through the School

Many establishments offer kickbacks to the schools that our kids attend. Many schools promote the selling of gift cards to these businesses as fundraisers.

I choose to purchase these cards when I am able and I simply hold onto them for a rainy day. A $100 grocery gift card, $25 in movie money etc. I keep the cards in a special pouch in my purse. When lean living becomes oh so tight, I pull the cards out and we motor on. Today, we enjoyed a movie we have been looking forward to. We smuggled our lunch in a backpack and had a great time together. No popcorn, just a healthy lunch in the dark together.

I am enriching my kids and helping the school at the same time - a win/win situation!!!! (and we are no worse for wear - it's prespent and saved money!)
